The first is a fun game for fans of daily five-guess challenges. The game gives you a pair of locations and you guess the Great Circle distance between them. More points for closer guesses. Share your results with friends as a challenge.
The second, somewhat inspired by the first, is a visualization of range on a map or globe. The user selects a range/unit and the world is tiled with non-overlapping range rings. An interesting way to challenge and sharpen your mental map of the "tyranny of distance."
